would i run into problems using a longer tool arm so i can extend the contact wheel out farther so i could use 132" belts. the surplus store i goto has tons of abrasives and amazing prices. they get tons of 4" and 6" x 132" norton belts for cheep. like cupple bucks each. thay also have sheats and disks and small belts. the prices are just amazing.

Ive been running 132" belts for years. Lately the 2" wide belts are hard to find cheap. If you can cut down a 4" in half that would be great.

They make a belt splitter that will cut them down for you. What are the abrasives made of. Make sure they are AO or SIC or Zirconia. Flint or garnet will not work and a lot of wood working belts are made of these materials. Also make sure the glue is not dried out. The abrasive will brush off easily if it is. Sounds like a great deal if they are quality belts.

HEy J, I could seriously use some 4 x 132 inchers...I tried to send and EM but don't know if it got through. thanks, Bill A.
