Cleaning up the shop a bit, and need to sell some things to buy others.
This is a very good Fisher, 135lber, I would've sworn it was heavier if I didn't see it for myself on the scale. This is an older, 1800s or so piece. It has one of the hardest face plates I've ever used with excellent rebound, when I tried to clean the heel up with a Nicholson file it totally raped the file.
It does have a tiny bit of saddle, nothing severe. Usual chipped area on the edge over the forward body, but there's still some good edge in front of the hardy hole, and the otherside is clean.
I cleaned it up lightly with a flap wheel and used it for a while, it moves metal great. Some chipping at the heel but plenty of material there to clean it up.
This is not a perfect anvil but its a very good quiet piece that's big enough to do serious work on. If you're not familiar with the Fisher anvils they're top quality without the deafening neighbor angering ring.
Asking: $350, pickup in Candler, NC, or buyer arranges shipping.
