I think 12c27 makes a better spring. The conventional wisdom says to draw it back to RC 45-47 (somewhere around 1200F) for springs. I've been doing a little testing with 12c27 springs drawn 3 times at 700F. They come out at RC 53 which I know sounds too hard but, 12c27 seems to have greater toughness and ducitility when drawn at 700 than it does at 1200.
I've only made a few folders with these harder springs but so far, none of the springs have failed.
Anyone else been down this road?
