Hi all...
I am still doing some research and had a question regarding 14" contact wheels.
I saw some here : http://beaumontmetalworks.com/kmg12-14.html
Has anyone used these? Are they the only ones around?

Would't that bug sucker need the dual sided bearing like they use on the smaller diameter wheels?.. like this http://www.usaknifemaker.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=60&products_id=744

btw.. who ever runs the site above.. why don't you offer 12 and 14s?

I understand centripetal force would keep it straight.. .. but seems like it would be prone to wear and tear on the bearings and after a while start to wobble.

I also noticed the 14 is only available in serrated.. is that a problem?
thanks for any info
Ray

The 14" wheels from Rob (Beaumont Metal) are nice. His wheels are also available in smooth. Tracy also sells the Beaumont wheels, I believe.

I've been running two 14 sheels for a long time from Beaumont. They are good. Only use the spindle that comes with the wheel as they are balanced on this partciular stem. Or...you can resurface with your stem with a sqaure ground chisel and being verrrry careful offering the blade to the wheel at below mid level with a scraping action...not cutting action.
