1402??

A friend gave me some sheet metal to make some blades out of, and he says it is 1402...

I have not heard of this type of steel, nor have I been able find any info about it on the net...

any info about this type of steel would be greatly appreciated!!

I've never heard of it but since you're in Europe it might be a European designation.

I wonder if he meant 1.4021. That seems to be the european name for 420. Here is a link with info.

If it is 420, it is perfect for what I am trying to do with it!!

I asked the guy one more time what it might be, and he said 14 oh 2.

Could it be a variant of O-2 tool steel??

420 is stainless steel. O-2 is not .There is no 14-02 version of O-2.
