Hi All,

While on duty yesteday I was assigned to work a traffic detail for a March of Dimes Walkathon. Beautiful day, good detail! Part of my job was to erect the wooden traffic barriers one of which decided to be extremely stubborn. Well, you know what came next. Out came the AK from the cruiser and a few chops later the barrier was brought into comliance. Children were crying and women were weeping at the very sight. The Sgt. thought it was the neatest thing since sliced bread! That was it's first (and certainly not last) "official" use.

I'll be taking it with me to the Rendevous (18th century encampment) for the next 5 days. LOTS of wood to chop!!! We'll see how it fits in with the 1700s motif. Bill, how can I explain to the "authentic detail" nitpickers how an eastern woodsman/rifleman came into possession of a khukuris?

I think that in order to carry anything like that, even in the cruiser, in the dept I just joined, it would require forms signed in triplicate, and authorization by the Chief of Police, the City Safety Director, the Mayor and possibly God.

Hey! Uncle Sam!

(_!_) Nyah nyah nyah!

Refund! You lose! :)

Another good news knife story, Mike, and thanks for telling us about it.

Don't know how I can help you with the 1700's eastern woodsman motif except to say Nepal is very far east and had woodsmen and the khukuri around in the 1700's.

And, Mike II, get out the forms! It should be fun.

Uncle Bill,

I haven't forgotten about your sample of Yuengling I've just been too busy to do anything about it. I will try to get it to you next week after I get back from the 'vous.
