I just received my latest GH khukuri -- a 15" AK, and it just might become my favorite. I really like all my khuks and try not to show favoritism because they get jealous, but this time I may not be able to help myself. I highly recommend this khuk to anyone looking for a rugged, all-around knife -- it'll do it all: cut, chop, hammer, and pry.
First, the 15" AK is a full 16" long; the blade is 1/2" thick (and razor sharp). Everything about the knife and sheath are exceptional. Though the khukuri and rig are completely handmade, there are no minor imperfections such as you might expect with products made by hand using rather primitive tools and techniques. The fit and finish are flawless.
Though the thick blade is weighty, the overall balance of the knife is quite nice; it doesn't feel as heavy as it really is.
I'd be willing to bet that the 15" AK quickly becomes the GH best seller -- and for good reason.
