15" Ang Khola -- a superb khuk

I just received my latest GH khukuri -- a 15" AK, and it just might become my favorite. I really like all my khuks and try not to show favoritism because they get jealous, but this time I may not be able to help myself. I highly recommend this khuk to anyone looking for a rugged, all-around knife -- it'll do it all: cut, chop, hammer, and pry.

First, the 15" AK is a full 16" long; the blade is 1/2" thick (and razor sharp). Everything about the knife and sheath are exceptional. Though the khukuri and rig are completely handmade, there are no minor imperfections such as you might expect with products made by hand using rather primitive tools and techniques. The fit and finish are flawless.

Though the thick blade is weighty, the overall balance of the knife is quite nice; it doesn't feel as heavy as it really is.

I'd be willing to bet that the 15" AK quickly becomes the GH best seller -- and for good reason.

Steve: thanks for your field report! It has become my favorite. I just can't wait until I get some more in. I'm thinking of having it replace entirely my Bhojpure - what are your thoughts (from an owner of both)?

Just for the record, my enthusiasm for the 15" AK is even greater now than when I first received it. In fact, since I've now had a chance to really work with the khukuri for awhile, I'm even more convinced that it's a khuk that everyone should have. It's a beauty to behold, a real work-horse, and feels good in the hand.

Granted, the AK 15 is a pretty good khuk, but will it be available in 18 inch size?

The 15" AK is nice workhorse and must have in a khuk collection. I think there is still room for the lighter Bhojpure though.
