15" x 3" balsa strops with handle and lanyard (diamond paste included)
The handle is made from a nice hard piece of poplar, it's first run through a jointer then a planer so it's nice and flat. After the handle shape is cut I route / sand the edges smooth, then I drill and bevel the hole for a lanyard. I use chrome tanned 3/16" leather either dark brown or black. I attached a nice clean piece of 3/16 balsa on each side and then hand sanded the edges flush, the balsa makes for an excellent stropping surface.
You can select two jars of diamond paste (jars are 5 grams), have the following available (.25, .5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 5 micron). The diamond paste is synthetic monocrystalline, works well and lasts a long time between applications. If you have your own paste or spray I will sell without the included pastes, please contact me for more info. These strops also work well with diamond sprays like Hand American.
These diamond pastes work well with modern (high vanadium steels), and if you use something like a sharpmaker and their fine or UF stones these pastes will bring your edges to the next level of sharpness. Also works well for touching up / maintaining edges.
