I thought i would share a few photos of how my Huntsman looks after 15 years of use.

Here is a link to the original 10 year review

Thread '10 years with my Huntsman' https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/10-years-with-my-huntsman.1762194/

Im still very happy with how it performs. Its showing signs of wear and is has suffered an unfortunate breakage of the can opener. I do miss it as a screw driver. I've replaced the lanyard twice.
Anyways stay tuned I will provide a detailed review in 2030.

Wonderful post. Long-term reviews in the knife world are like precious gemstones.

No matter what new knife I buy, an SAK ends up back in my pocket. Looks like this one never left yours. I nearly wore out a Climber model once. Lost it long ago. My problem is that nowadays I have so many SAKs in rotation, they'll probably never look this worn and cool. Good problem to have.

Great post Dan!
I had a beloved Huntsman.
It wasn't a daily carry, but I did manage to tote it along on nearly every outdoor adventure that I went on for 26 years. I'd probably be carrying it today, (instead of the Fieldmaster that I replaced it with), if it hadn't been stolen.
Your Huntsman is loaded with character. A beautiful example of incredible durability and usefulness. I enjoyed seeing it and being reminded of my former companion.
I hope you and your treasured Huntsman are here in 2030 to celebrate 20 years together. I'll stay tuned. ;)

Dan, just getting back on the forum after a little absence. Youโ€™ve put that knife through its paces for sure, probably more than most people will do in a lifetime. Maybe they should make a TV series about all the things you use your SAK for? Fintan can direct it now that heโ€™s famous๐Ÿ˜‰

This is actually pretty amazing, among the non users here who take pictures of brand new looking knives and tabletop reviewers on YT that claim the knife is a great user, to see a knife not only used for a long length of time, but to continue to carry it instead of saying "ah its all used up, time for a replacement" to me is priceless in a sense because its rare. At the end of the day, a used up old rusted knife will <still> [cut] until the day it literally can no longer, you are embodying the spirit of usage like in the old times, where they didnt bother owning 13 knives when the first one still worked.
Kudos

It's too bad we can't like a post more than once! Lots of truth in the above statement.

Edit to add; What makes me regretful of how much time and money I spent on the whole obsessive knife thing, is that I grew up with examples of folks like wilf. The guy who will use the ever lovin heck out of something with no thought of replacing it as long as it does its job. It won't matter how much it looks battered and worn, if it still futons why replace it????

For something like 25 years I got sucked into the obsessive knife nut thing, and I regret it. looking back on it, I always ask "What the hell was I thinking?????" Now I use the same little SAK day in and day out, and the sun still is rising in the east, and life goes on. Once in a while I need something more, so I use a different tool. I watched my dad go through his life with that little Case Peanut, and my Uncle Charlie with his Camillus TL-29, and they were happy. They lived good lives, raised a family after coming home from a horrible world war, and their kids knew a better life for it. None of my cousins had any of the knife nut genes, so I was the strange one that obsessed over the shiny blades. I'm glad I got over it by middle age. Keep on trucking with that SAK, Wolf!๐Ÿ‘
