Hey yall. It's been a while since I posted, but I'm back for now. So, the gf has offered to get me the knife of my choice for my birthday. She said price didn't matter, but it's Hard to tell if she's super generous or doesn't know how expensive they can get, haha. I want to set the price limit here at 150. Folder or fixed, any style, but it must be something that you can carry on you as a reasonable edc blade, and be a good blade steel. My current favorite is m4... I think...

So currently in my collection (and I would like it to fit in) I have:

Spyderco : manix 2 xl, Gayle Bradley, manix 2 in s110v, assist h1
Zt560
Quartermaster Marty mcfly
Busse ams
Think that's it...

Some more requirements : I don't like combo edged blades. Serrated or plain is fine. I can't buy used. Must be 1 knife, not multiples. Lock type doesn't matter much to be, but I do not enjoy Backlocks. I like spyderco, but i would enjoy moving to other brands.

Lastly, thanks!

I'd recommend the Viper Fortis. M390 steel and right in your pricepoint.

As for spyderco i would say pm2 in s110v and dragonfly2 in zdp189 as my personal go to's.

If you want something different Mcusta makes some pretty cool knives that are all edc friendly. As long as you dont mind vg10, but most are layered or clad vg10 blades, which makes them worth it imo. Cool handles, materials, and designs too.

Zt0450 $10 over budget but worth it.

Lionsteel sr series are sweet knives and you can usually find them below $150.

I havent carried many fixed blades for edc, but of the ones i have, the esee candiru and izula were both winners.

Just some suggestions, but if choosing 1 id say the pm2, and non spyderco id say pick out a Mcusta.

S110v pm2 is my first instinct

Lionsteel Kur is $10 over price point, but a very good choice too.

I think there are several Hogue knives that can be found for around this price. The quality of the product they put out is beyond outstanding. I cannot recommend them enough.

spyderco police and enduras are awesome, always great choices. after all the different brands and models that ive tried over the years, the basic fully serrated endura is still one of my all time favorites. i also really like my all black endura, only comes in combo edge though.

Kizer Gemini is right at $150 with titanium scales, steel lock bar insert, and 3" S35VN steel with a nonthreatening profile. It flips really smooth if you like flippers.

Spyderco Yojimbo2 for $122 or Benchmade 710 for $153.

Both are excellent knives. But (imo) the Yo2 is a better deal with better steel (S30V vs D2).
