154CM dulling quickly on BM530. Similar knives with better steels?

I want my EDC knife to have a great edge at all times. I never know when that sharp blade will be needed. So..... I use a 99 cent box cutter, with easily replaceable razor blades, to cut cardboard and tape. The right tool for the job makes life easier.
 
I have to clean my blade daily due to all the residue. I use remington action cleaner. I find its the best at dissolving tape.

OP,

Sharpen to a coarse finish, DMT coarse, Fine India, belt sander are all good options. I had trouble with edge retention on 154cm until I started using a very coarse edge.

Agreed. I normally like polished edges, but with 154cm I have been really impressed with a 400 grit edge.
