154cm vs D2 for survival Knife

I have had no problems with D2. I think that a fairly prominent knife company produced some bad woods kinives out of
D2 a few years back and this has created the stigma of it being an overly brittle steel. I do find it more difficult to sharpen. If you are prepping for a potential survival situation that you envision may require extended use or heavy chopping then buy yourself a quality small knife and a decent hatchet , which in combination will outperform any single knife regardless of the steel.
