154CPM datasheet: any?

yep runn it like plain old 154cm and all you have to keep in mind is it gets alittle harder 1-2 points depending

Thanks Mete and Butcher :)
What I would like to find out too is if there is also some gain as far as toughness is concerned.

Do a search on this forum .The comments about CPM154 have been excellent from the standpoint of both makers and users. A bit harder, tougher, easier to grind and sharpen and holds an edge better !....BTW where is Malgrate ?

I have the current (rarther spartan) spec sheet. The short version is same heat treat and twice as tough. It's late and Marilyn is calling me to bed. I'll post it tomorrow.

Rob!

Got it.
Malgrate is at the end of South-Eastern row of the Lake of Como, Lumbardy, Northern Italy :)

Thanks. Eagerly waiting :)

You can access it here CPM154 data sheet

(dial-up caution - 1.62 meg file)

Note that page 2 is not just the same as the 154cm sheet - it IS the original 154cm sheet.

No, just posted it as a bit of useful information, as there seems to be some confusion floating about that CPM154 does contain V.

FWIW, I love the stuff. I can't believe some grumble about the extra $5 or so cost of blade steel. It is SO MUCH easier to finish and any worries about hardening to the high end are gone. This stuff is tough! I suppose if I wanted to win a cutting competition, I would choose S30V, but for any other high performance custom knife I would sure prefer the CPM154 - especially as a maker.

Try it - you'll like it!

i work with a bunch also and am thinking about a 200lb order rolled to extra thin fro the kitchen knives i make(200Lb is min there will roll to spec )
