A while back, I started doing a one hour stress relief cycle after grinding in addtion to my normalizing cycles that I do while forging. I put the blade in foil and run it up to say 1200-1250 adn let it soak for an hour. What I have found it that is almost totally eliminated warping in the quench.I normalize because I feel it helps remove stresses from when the stock is sheared and hammering and grinding... I usually tell non-knife makers its a stress relieving cycle.
