$SOLD Takes it. Shipped CONUS. PayPal Preferred.
.125" 15n20 as a mono-steel
NO HARDNESS CLAIMS (see below)
Tanto styled shape, hollow ground and highly polished
7 3/8" OAL with 2.75" blade
Brass pins and tubes hold forest green G-10, textured but polished
Feels good in my hand even though it's quite square (I find that if shaped correctly, I prefer square.)
Black .080 kydex sheath with 1.5" clip (also not my best-est) highly functional with great retention
Heat treated per recipe (off the top of my head 1575f, then oil quench, tempered 2x2 at 350f) DID NOT make it to the hardness desired.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: steel was purchased through a reputable dealer and is known to be 15n20.
I baton-ed this blade through a piece of seasoned fire wood (hickory) and it held it's edge. It's tough, but not quite what I was after. It still makes an easily touched up blade, possibly for personal protection uses. Certainly as good as some of the store bought junk and at a bargain price. Good enough to still receive my mark and as you guys come to know me, I don't put my mark on something not worth the while.
