It's good to be included in that list of "Honorable mentions".

That was so hard to do after sitting in a bar watching the Bruins. That's the list, it's not mine, don't kill the messenger. Please forgive any spelling errors.
Of course I don't agree with all the choices. :D However, it's a culmination of someone's top lists. Not mine.

Colog: Since you've already done the task posting this (thank you!), who were the contributors/judges?

Coop

2-3 names are a big surprise to me and a couple others that didn't show at all???

But it is a list. ;)

The judges were, Larry Brahms of BladeArt, Larry Connelley of KnifeArt, Daniel O'Malley of BladeGallery, Neil Ostroff of True North Knives, Les Robertson of Robertson's Custom Cutlery, Paul Shindler of Knife Legends, Dave Stark of Steel Addiction and knife collectors Peter Gill and Chris Schluter.

Coop, it's the March 2014 issue.

Remember this is 01 thru 12. Previous issues had the lists for earlier years. One of those had Don Fogg. Can you tell I like D. Fogg?

I fine these 'Lists' interesting reading. However, have to be taken with a grain of salt as they are just opinions (often biased opinions)
with no testing or documentation backing them up.

It's all opinions

But if I had to ask a group of fellows their opinion, I think the ones mentioned would have a good idea when it comes to what's selling and what is in top demand

I agree, but according to opening poster, it's a list of what makers have the sharpest knives, not what maker's knives are selling and in top demand.

I may be mistaken but I think the term Sharpest was a play on words and did not have anything to do with actual edge sharpness :)

I think it was more of a popularity contest

But this would not be the first time I really misunderstood something :)

Either way if it truly was meant to be actual edge related I would have a few to add to the list

I'm with Joe on this one....

If this is really supposed to be "by edge" - then I would have some significant disagreements with the list

If it is a "favorites " list - then to each his own, of course. Lots of fine makers on the list

I'm sure you nailed it.

It is a list of a (very) few educated folks' opinions. And it seems to be market-driven, which has some value to it, but IMO is not the be-all and end-all. But I am pretty sure I could find another group of just-as-educated folks and come up with a different list. But probably some of the names would appear on list after list after list.

Stiil, it is always nice to be recognized!

Perhaps you are right. Silly me :o , when someone refers to 'sharpest' in a knife discussion then I'm assuming we are discussing blade sharpness?
Hard to tell since Colog is the only one who has mentioned actually seeing the article.

Colog, is the article about sharpest as in cool , good looking, or blade sharpness?

The list certainly makes a little more sense now.

Lol that was just the name of the name of the article. It is not about edge retention.
