1600 Knife collection

Great another crazy with lots of knives to give us all a bad name.

Wonder what will they will do with all of them? Auction them off?

Pretty weird stuff....
And what would he want with 1,600 knives (most of which were replicas)

You would ask that on this forum?

He had some Spydercos and some Buck boxes, too. Can't be all nuts.

My question is why is he facing "dozens of felony charges" after finding that stash? Forgive me, but I didn't read the whole article. What laws did he break?

illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. on at least 5 counts.

It looks like he watched knives live or some similar show and bought knives in bulk on closeout.

Idiots like this guy is what keeps me employed!I can not tell you over the course of 22 years in law enforcement how many prisoners I have seen get out only to come back on a new case. One more reason that I carry a handgun every where with me.Alot of prisoners take it personal because you enforce the rules and you never know which one will come after you or your family.

What they forgot to say about the "metal-detector-proof" polymer knives is that those things generally can't hold an edge and most of them will break after stabbing something.

The gun ownership by a felon & trying to bring the 4 knives into a government building are probably the biggies. Without those charges, he might skate.

I wonder if the 25 or 30 Boker Kalashnikov 74's I see are Autos or not?
That probably won't help him. :D

So everywhere there are these "Gun and Knife" shows. Lots of guns, no deals on them, but a good place to lay hands on just about everything...before finding a better place to buy. Fine.

But where are the knives? Oh sure, there are always a few, always a few cases of old slipjoints, always a bunch of those Glock Field Knives, and the guy selling those so-so antler handled jobs. But really, 1,000 to one guns to knives. Never seen a Balisong, I don't think I've ever seen a Spyderco, maybe a Cold Steel now and again, never ever seen a Falkniven, an EESE, a Busse...hell, I am not sure I've ever seen a Buck but I probably have.

Are there any knife shows anyplace where there are actually a good selection of all kinds of knives?

Gun shops often at least have SOME variety. Outdoor stores and hardware stores will have cheap $20 type folding knives.

My local gun shop has some spydies, they mostly just sit and collect dust because they're in the $100+ range. They actually have a pair of original Centofantes sitting there, and I had never even seen a picture of one, let alone held one! If it wasn't for the combo blade I probably would have bought it. Funny thing, too, I had my centofante 4 in my pocket, I thought it was funny and showed the lady who just sorta rolled her eyes at me :D

Most of those are the Cold Steel Nightshade series and they are actually pretty tough, at least according to their Proof DVD's but they aren't really sharp or hold an edge well.
You must be mistaking these for the ceramic knives that are very brittle (ceramic knives hold an edge pretty nice actually).
