.177 G2 Stainless

New to making knives... Purchased this today and holy cow, cutting a blank out of it is hard. I cant imagine an even harder steel. I think I need to go thinner. The .177 is a nice size, but still thicker than almost all my EDC knives. I think a thinner blade material will be a little easier to work with especially at my beginning stage.

What do you all think?
