18" Panawal or AK?

Which one should I get?

The description said that they are "functionally the same as the 18 inch AK, but with the Panawal-style handle".

What is the difference in handle? In your opinion, is one more comfortable? Are the pins in the Panawal better (sturdier)?

Till now I have been asking khukuri questions. Now I would like to offer you some kind of answer for conversation's sake.

I have an AK AND a khukuri with a panawal style handle. To me it's a dead cert that the panawal style is stronger, if you have to compare.

If you're a collector and you have neither the AK or the panawal, then buy either one, so long as it's good quality. They each have their own appeal. Soon you'll buy the other one too.

My two cents is that the AK is more comfortable than the Panawal (which is a little bit stronger). But don't worry about the AK tang. Our tangs are quenched during the tempering process to achieve a good hardness (something you'll see in our video upcoming). Since they are the same price, if you buy one, I'll ship you both and you can send back the one you don't like (as long as you're in the US).
