Hello everyone,
Few days ago I got a call from my friend who is mechanic, he said he has one broken leaf spring that he removed from Hummer H3 and asked if it would be good material to make a knife out of. I picked it up and made this knife.
For heat treat I went with 1580 F, quenched in fast ht oil and then 400F for tempering. Right after quench it was hard as glass.
I also made short video of making the knife, you can watch it on youtube, link is below.
Thickness: 0.28'' (7.2mm)
Overall length: 18'' (45.5cm)
Blade length: 12'' (30cm)
Blade width: 2'' (5cm)
Handle: Black burlap micarta with blue liners, attached with screws
350$ shipping included SOLD
Thanks!
