18 X-RAY New Production?

Does anybody have these up for sale yet. I've been to all my favorite net knife stores for no questions asked autos and they dont have them yet.

Great knives, Camillus Heat Rescue knife and 18-XRAY. I think the 18-XRAY is the way to go for EDC for me.

Yes Darrel I really love this knife. I showed it to several co-woirkers. We will probably be picking up a few more. Overall, very good for EDC and replaces another auto I was carrying. The rescue knife I carry for extractions if I come up on one. Just the same, where did Camillus get the name "18-XRAY"? I didn't have a chance to find that one out at the Shot Show. Much thanks to the folks at Camillus for professional equipment. In just a few days I've really come attached to this one.

IIRC, "18-X(ray)" is military lingo for Special Forces (Army) recruitment.

Maybe the name means this knife is ready for service?

Thank's for the reply Anthony. One question for Darrel. I've got a good amount of time fooling with different switchblades (secret opening etc.) and so forth. It seems the X-Ray can be opened by pushing ALL THE WAY FORWARD to the end of travel, THEN DOWNWARD on the Button? Rather would it also be better for the mechanism to PUSH DOWNWARD WHILE MOVING FORWARD ON THE BUTTON ENTIRE TRAVEL OF THE BUTTON? Seems that some times the button does not re-set. Correct me if I am not operating 18-XRAY correctly?

Auto,
Please contact Camillus if the button hangs.
We have not seen this problems so it will be welcome.

The other idea sounds great.
There are many Ideas aout there.
ITs just the ones that get move upon that we all benifit from.

If you don't get an 18XRAY, you don't have THE KNIFE. Absolutely one of the nicest knives I have seen come down the pike. I am sure this one is going to sell a lot of knives for Camillus. The action is gorgeous. I wouldn't mind a somewhat smaller version. AUTOKNIFE

Hi there Mr Ralph.
I was reading about this knife in TK and it stated that at the time the military hadn't adopted the plain edge blade, leading me to believe that it would be available to the public.

I asked knifecenter.com about purchasing this knife and they only mentioned needing to pay in advance nothing about military or law enforcement restrictions

Is this the case or am I unlucky there?

Thanks in advance
