:
Thye 18th Century is a really nice khukuri!!!
I used mine for awhile when I wanted one with a little less weight than my 18"AK.

And I love the steel fittings even though they might not be as pretty as the brass.
There's just something about the nice grey patina that steel aquires after a while.

- steel fittings is exactly the way I would want to go. What I would like to do is buy a beautiful example of a Malla and a very plain 18th Century with the steel fittings and gray patina(I'm completely with you there Yvsa

) to make a display piece. The 18th cent looks like it was made to slash through heavy leather, while the Malla looks like it was meant to spike through some type of heavier armor. What time period is the Malla Era? Curious if I'm right about intended uses of these designs if anyone knows.

thanks,
Patrick

p.s. Uh, how much do they cost? Need to know which gun I need to sell

In trying to put the recent tragedy involving the current Nepalese royal family into some sort of historical perspective, I found this Nepalese history site that seems to be quite complete.

Thanks for the insights Ivan and Yvsa. Uncle Bill, you can expect more orders from me soon. Berkley, the link was very informative- I thought you might be the one to answer. Thanks.

Patrick
