1911 Combat Survivor new pictures of the working version

Mark,

I've got to say this is truly one of the coolest things I have seen ..... What a great way to store an extra mag - truly innovative! I would buy a 1911 as a companion for this knife! .22 auto or GLOCK would be awesome too...sky is the limit! I HOPE THIS IDEA TAKES OFF FOR YOU!

Also, thanx for donating to the NRA ... you are a stand-up guy.

Thanks again everyone, the working version of the knife will come with a mag. pouch and extra mag. on the sheath.

You should do a GLOCK version

Yea, when the Glock turns 100 then do it. However it has a Polymer frame, a whole different can of worms but I'll bet the able craftsmen on the forum could figure out how to do it.

Outstanding idea. The slab sides of the 1911 grip just feel right at any angle. Thanks for posting.

I stopped by Mark's shop the other day and was able to handle this knife before he shipped it out. The craftsmanship and finish were perfect as always. I hate to see him get involved in another projects like this , it will even longer get him to make my band saw blades. It is truly a pleasure to see a craftsman who is having so much fun innovating and creating.

What a great idea Mark, your basic innovation, precision and beauty with just a dash of history thrown in. Any chance you can bring one of these to Blade to play with?

Hi All, I just added some new photos from Coop. They look good. Thanks for looking and thanks for all the nice comments.

Outstanding, idea and design that has a cool factor that is off the charts and is also functional and beautiful. Well done! Thank you again for posting - great pics.

Thanks a lot guys, I just had a question about the thickness of the blade, so I added that at the top. They are 3/16 inch thick. He requested one a quarter inch thick so it's possible that I could make some a quarter inch thick too but it is already a pretty hefty knife. We will have to see. For now I'm just making the donation knives.

The clip from the knife is functional in a .45 (gives you one more round if you need it) and the knife accepts a fully loaded mag for your .45 if you want to do that.

This part made me smile ear to ear! Obviously a lot of time, money and effort has gone into this project. I love it!

I have not seen a new knife idea that made me dam near speechless. This one has.
My hat is off to you sir for both the design and dedication to defending out rights!
