I have gotten some really good news, our Patent has been approved and we made some cool improvements on the 1911 Combat Survivor Bowie.

The 1911 Combat Survivor is an eight inch fixed blade Bowie based on a 1911 Colt 45 grip frame. It has a survival clip that is stored in the handle, if you want you can carry an extra clip for your .45 in there. It has a mag. release just like the pistol.

We are finishing them with non glare Dura-Coat, and providing them with Combat Master Sheaths from SPEC-OPS.

We are pretty excited to go into full production with expected delivery of this run in August of this year.

I did a field test on the knife and wrote a blog about it, you can check it out here; http://1911combatsurvivor.blogspot.com/

To kick off this event, we are offering an early bird discount - $100.00 off the original price of $750.00 and we will cover the shipping and insurance for U.S. customers. *This promotion is limited to the first 100 customers.
Your cost at this time is $650.00.

For payment in full, you will be able to choose the serial number of your choice. There are still lots of numbers below 100, but be sure to choose early to get the serial number that you want.

We accept VS/MC/Check/M.O. and PayPal. Our PayPal email address is cuttingedge@gci.net.

The 1911 Combat Survivor package includes the following:

1911 Combat Knife
Combat Master Sheath from SPEC-OPS
Extra 1911 mag.
Survivor clip: door of the compartment is a diamond hone for sharpening, a Leatherman Micro, magnesium and flint fire starter, needle for sewing, a length of synthetic sinew for snares, fishing, sewing, a bow string etc. and fish hooks. It has capacity for a .45 round and a flashlight is attached to the lanyard
Certificate of Authenticity.

Man, these are just too darn cool! Very 'outside the box' thinking. Wish I had the cash for one of them now! Nice work Mark, nice work!

Really dig it!! If my wife would let me, I'd sleep with my 1911...some nights. Love this design and hope to afford it some day! :-)

Very cool concept. Unemployed, so have to get in in the future. Best wishes on much deserved success with it!

Hi Mark, I looked and haven't found what steel you are using? and are the frames and knife forged or cast, Thanks.

Yet another thunk myself in the head V8 moment of why in the world didn't I think of that. Pure genius.

Will you answer my Question Mark? What steel is used and are the knives cast, forged or Billet Machined?

At Least tell us What STEEL is used.

According to his website it's 154cm and I don't know if its forged but since he makes his own Damascus I would guess it is

Hi Original, I covered these questions in a thread I wrote a while back, sorry to have omitted them here. The blades are 154 CM they are pinned and soldered into a grip frame cast of 304 stainless. Since the grip frames have no moving parts like on the pistol, I would think having them cast would not be an issue. I used to make them from actual Caspian (demilled) grip frames but that proved to be cost prohibative, (with the extra welding and machining involved)

I only get on the computer about once a day, I'm happy to answer all of your questions.

Thanks Mark for the reply, I lived in Alaska for a decade so I know what you mean about the net.

Your knives will be stout with those specs, all the Best to you.
