That's just the way I feel about my 1911's.

Perhaps, but I've never seen a Colt as well made as my Les Baer or Springfield Custom. Pre-war Colts aren't as durable as newer guns, and Colt's current offerings are inconsistent in quality.

Still, I dream of one day finding a Colt 1918 Anniversary gun and sending it to Ted Yost at Heirloom Precision. That man is an artist when it comes to 1911s.
 
I'll probably take flak for saying this, but all you're paying for when you buy Colt is the name. Not saying Colts are bad, but I'm with kamagong on this one, that Colts are inconsistent in quality these days.
