I need some advice. Which Bugatti should I get? I really like the lines on the black 1936 but in 1937 they made the convertible and that one looks pretty good too. :D
Only three were made of the 1936 "Atlantic". Clothes designer Ralph Lauren owns one. An anonymous buyer bought one recently for 30 million, making it the world's most expensive used car. I got my eye on that third one.

The '36 is more my style but the '37 is definitely YOU.

Good point, Sid. I think I will get me 2012 Morgan instead. There will be less problems with a new modern car. Notice the leather strap across the hood. I'm going to send that off to some of the boys over in the Sheath Maker Forum for some nice hand tooling.

LOL. IIRC, one of them was at the little car museum at Silver Springs down in Ocala, FL for a number of years. I wonder if that is the one that old Ralphie bought?

My not-to serious googling was coming up with some discrepancies about the Atlantic. One source said Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the late Shah of Iran had one.

Have the Peanut collection appraised before making a decision. :D

BTW Cool cars.

I'll take the 2013 Veyron Super Sport. It has 1,200 horsepower. The base Veyron only has 1,000 hp and that clearly just won't do.

The BF answer is Get both, use both, and sell the one you like less....................

Make sure you use paypal, and request that they be shipped fully insured, and signature required.

I would hate to have one get lost in the mail!

If you do get the 36 please paint it like the phallus it looks like. Gorgeous car I just can't get over that similarity though

Imagine the grief you would get doing that to a thirty million dollar car (well deserved grief in my opinion)

For those who think that aluminum is the newest material [along with CF] for reducing weight of cars --They started that in the early days of Al for faster cars .There was a Marmon from the twenties that had many parts of all types of Al. Note the raised seams on the Bugatti body and fenders. That's because the panels are Al and at that time they didn't have technology to weld it so they riveted them !!
I have a model of that car , I think it's really cool !

You really need to ask yourself, "Do I want a looker or a serious user?". The Morgan as a user, the others as lookers. +1 on the hand tooling. But why stop with the hood strap?

Ray was partial to Mercedes when I knew him back in the early '70's. Of course that was just his get-around car here in the States. No telling what he kept in the garage back home.

Get the hardtop. When you take that crappy convertible around a corner, it will flex and compromise your lap times. You are buying it to race right?

I'll stick to my little Lincoln while you play with your toys.
