For sale only is my 1930s Camillus 4 line slipjoint with goldlip mother of pearl handles.
Both blades have halfstops and there is no wiggle up and down or left and right in any position. The main blade spring is almost flush in all 3 positions; the backspring sits ever so slightly low in the closed and open position. The backspring for the pen blade is very slightly proud in the halfstop position, but looks to be pretty much perfect in the other two positions.
There is some slight pullback of the scales from the bolsters, but top and bottom of the scales is actually very flush with the liners. There are no cracks or chips in the scales and the pins are flush except one sits very slightly proud. There is a lot of shine on the bolsters and there are no dents or deep scratches anywhere.
Carbon steel blades have some pepper spots, but there is no pitting to speak of. Same story for the backsprings.
The main blade can be opened using the long nail nick. I would subjectively say pull is about a 5 on a scale of 10. There is very good snap closing it. The pen blade can also be opened using the nail nick. Same as the main blade, pull is about a 5. The pen does have a little bit less snap on closing, but it is still definitely there. I have not oiled the blade joints or really done anything to this knife since I acquired it except I did put a little camellia oil on the scales as a stopgap protective measure since I live in an arid desert area.
I am showing pics of the tang stamps here. If you look closely, you can see the fourth line that says USA in the one pic.
I am not sure what else to say about this knife except that she is a real gem, especially considering that she is about 90 years old. If she does not sell, I will not cry at all. Stuff like this is hard to find.
All that said, she is available for $70 shipped CONUS with payment through Zelle, USPS MO, personal check, or PP FF. I reserve the right to sell to anyone, but generally the first unequivocal "I'll take it!" followed up by good comms and fast payment will get the knife. If I have missed anything, please feel free to ask questions.
