With all due respect,You can quit this.It is unseemly, and in poor taste, to this forum.I may be a 1946 Mod.,but I outrank you,and you work for me.

All of that is true.Nonetheless,we rank each other. The power of a COL. is impressive. The power of a U.S.Gen.Officer is truely awesome.Flag officer to you.

I hold the rank of 4th Dan Master --- Tang Soo Do -- Korean Karate --- but my students are my teachers.

No matter if we like this.We are respondent to our peers. No less than more formal systems.

Ghostsix, I did not understand your first message at all.

Please enlighten me?

Rank is a dogi that has been unwashed for 3 months, being worn by an overly sweaty and enthusiatic martial artist on a hot August day in a Central Texas, non air conditioned, windows painted shut Dojo. Wheww!!!

Hmm, I am so inexperienced with the icon marks I wrongly selected the little frowning red face, not the smiley yellow for my above post.
Doh!!

Can somebody do me a favor and chuck a clue my way? 'Cuz I'm lost...what the heck is this thread about? Is it a continuation of something else?

(scratches head)

The only "rank" I've held is what I smell like after an 800 mile day on a bike headed through the Mohave desert.

To Jim and others, odds are if you can't understand what Ghostsix is saying (and no I don't know in this case) then its not you the comment was meant for anyway.

Yeah, well, I am really the re-incarnation of
Erwin Rommell. So there.

On rank ... I was always impressed with the CWOs in the Marines as a lot of them seemed like enlisted generals. I recalled hearing about a 2nd Lt who complained that a CWO4 with well over 30 years didn't salute him, and not getting much sympathy he ended up demanding a request mast to the base CG. The CG said that the CWO4 only saluted him once a year, on Marine Corps birthday. It seemed that a lot with that many years in knew one another.

Medal of Honor holders also got a lot of respect from everyone.

Mike L., speaking of Erwin Rommel, when I was stationed in Stuttgart in 1978-1980, the Deputy Commander of VII Corps (headquartered in Stuttgart) was a two star named George S. Patton III (guess who his father was!). They mayor of Stuttgart was Manfred Rommel (guess who his father was!) There's a coincidence for you. They, and their families used to get together at least once a year for dinner!

Cool, my dad once worked for George Patton.
Men were men in those days.

I dunno what any of this has to do with khukuris, but...Bill is a very tolerant moderator.

My only rank is US citizen/taxpayer.
According to the Constitution, guys like me
are s'posed to be da boss.

According to our gvt. we can only recognize the Constitution when the opinion polls say it's ok. We are plunging full speed ahead into socialism. I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said that the only time this country will need the Second Ammendment is when the gvt. tries to take it away from us.
Keep you khurkris sharp and your chamber full!!

Hey Mike --- My uncle once told me he saw Patton in his tank. Said it was as white as the kitchen stove we were sitting next to.
