A friend of a friend came over to visit (mostly to make fun of me).
She had with her her Dad's 1956 Victorinox Soldier.
Red handle (not aluminum), and the antique can opener that works perfect for lefty's like me.
We need to send Victorinox a bunch of letters to get them to reintroduce this model if for no other reason than the can opener.
Oh yeah, & their was no bottle opener, just a screw driver with a semi sharpened edge.
 
He was a USAF Vet & served in Germany in the early 60's.
He was going to buy a "standard" model, but the shop keeper told him these were being phased out for the Alox models.
If he bought 3 he'd get a 3 for the price of 2 deal so he did.
He gave 1 to his Dad, kept the other 2.
The 1 she showed me (she wanted me to clean it up a bit) was his user.
The other is still NIB.
