1980s Gerber Fixed Blade-Removed From Storage and Re-Sharpened

This is my old Gerber fixed blade, my turkey hunting knife from the 1980s. After decades of storage I recently retrieved it from storage and re-sharpened on my whetstones. For the life of me I cannot locate identification info online and have no idea what the model number is or what blade steel is used here. The blade is stamped "Taiwan" so I know that much. Anyway, I am enjoying again this knife and will likely clean it up and use it again.

That looks like the Freeman guide outdoor knife.

It seems that you are right. The newer versions are identical to the eye in design and form. Still not sure about the steel. Will keep looking. Thanks for the identification!
 
Limited info online. This earlier Taiwan version (my version) may have used either AUS-8 or 440A steel. The current version is Chinese and has 5CR15MOV steel. Budget all the way!
