I took this Randall Model 18 in on a trade this weekend. I would rate the condition at a solid 90%+. I took as many photos with bright light to let any "flaws" stand out. I obtained this from the original owner. He said he carried it around for a bit but never really used it. It sat in a drawer for the last 20 years. He had the handle wrapped with fishing line and wire with some tabs of electrical tape and then wrapped with paracord. I removed it as the adhesive on the tape had made the monofilament sticky. I cleaned off most of the residue that was left behind. Other than that, I did not touch the knife.
The original stone has signs of use, but I'm not sure it was used on this blade. I don't think he messed with the edge at all.......looks original to me with no nicks or wear. The only noticeable flaws on the blade are some light fluttering rub marks towards the tip that can be seen in the light. They are pronounced in the photos. I'm not sure what they are from, but they may be from the sheath. The handle still has a small amount of residue from the tape, and I found a pin-sized ding on it. The sheath itself is in great shape with normal signs of a knife sitting in it for many years (a few tarnish spots where the brass met the leather) Take a look at the picture and judge for yourself.
