19th Dayof Christmas deals. No blems. No pix. Just Christmas gifts.

Munk, you are not alone. I got an FN FAL and a 16.5 WWII Bura promptly popped up on the blems one day. Nice to have one next to the bed. Been hard month for finances. Still solvent, but not from any help from Uncle.

PS: I'm getting a printer that should work finally for X-mas ( over a year without one ).

Asking Santa for an FN/Fal never gets any respect. My wife always wants to buy me a 'Real' gift. I tried that one year and hated it. I don't remember even what it was. Oh, it was sensible. Probably wore well, or toasted something.

There's this assumption that Khukuri stuff, a few M1A's here, a .41 mag there; it will all pass. Really, they wonder, when will ______ ______ get over it and return to the real world? When will he grow up? When will he get something usefull?

I can't return, can't come back. We may never save the world with a Khukuri or properly crafted handload for a 38/55, but these things keep us sane, even cheerful.

Naturally, if we ever save someone's ass with these things we'll get thanked properly, right? They'll buy us a new toaster, the one with the dual ports, their way of saying, 'we love you."

My wife has come to understand this better in recent months, what with her amazng gift to me of the Movie Model last summer and the expiration of her "no new" firearms ban. Yes Rusty, you can bet I bought her the Rose bush you suggested. Planted, watered, fenced, and fertilized.

Hey- no one's picked the Kesar 12" AK? Where is everyone? I hope Kesar's back. He's been gone too long too.

Email sent on #7

BTW, I suppose that I should introduce myself. I'm a fairly new lurker here, came over from the other forums on curiosity. I saw what was going on, and even though I wore a surgical mask and gloves, seem to be coming down with something.

I received my *first* khuk today, a 25 oz. 16.5 Bura Ak that Yangdu (what a *nice* lady!) happened to have in the blem box. It arrived today, and well...you see what's happened!

The AK is beautiful, the grip actually fits my hand (size 16 ring) and yes, it does have something special to it! I can't wait to get it outside to work it over and see what it can do. Going on faith in what I've seen here, I already sent in my second order (is that a record?)

Greetings and Happy Holidays,
Nasty

Welcome, Nasty.

Someone gave you bad advice on the mask and gloves: HIKV is transmitted through the eyes. You're doomed.

You've made a couple of good choices for your first khuks. Hope you enjoy them. After you read the safety thread and the FAQs, and you still have questions, almost ANYTHING can be found out here.

You mentioned that you ordered your 2nd knuk AFTER YOU GOT YOUR FIRST. That's at least 3 WHOLE DAYS between orders. Tsk. But don't worry, you'll get better at it.

Enjoy your stay.

You know you got it bad when you go count pennies in the big jar and call in favors in order to get one.

Thanks Aardvark!

I forgot to mention...the scabbard is also a real work of art. Whoever made it should be considered for a promotion. It's too bad that the sarkis don't mark their work like the kamis do.

At least now I will be able to enjoy the work on these two...wait a minute...those pen-knives sure are nice!

" HIKV is transmitted through the eyes"

Nasty,
You're lucky their aren't pictures here anymore.

If their were, you'd have gotten infected/doomed much sooner.

BTW, the Balance is an excellent choice for a 2nd khuk.

If you think the first one is nice..........

Next you'll need a good 18".

Something like a chitlangi or gelbu special, or kobra.
:D
Welcome.

Sarki's are often times overlooked - they do a very good job too !!

We could do with some customisations though - no karda and chakma scabbards would go down a treat !!

Hey Munk:)

Been a bumpy road?

Take care of yourself, hear?

Welcome Nasty. Enjoy.

Thanks guys,

I just got my email...#7 is mine! Seems like a real nice cantina, might as well stick around a while.

Mind if I park my scoot out front?

Welcome new posters;
I opened my BAS and immediately fought through the blem sales to get a bigger blade. That first open package is magic. You knew it was going to be good, but it was more. It made you laugh and smile. It grabbed your heart because it was so obviously personal. Someone gave a damn and worked with pride.

And there's..something that can't be found or said exactly. They call it magic. The blades are blessed. I think they must work like dream antenna, carrying messages while we sleep, talking to God knows who or what.

I have a great Gransfors Bruks axe, (If I remembered the name right) and it is a fine tool, beautifully made. But it is mostly just a nice tool. So is a Milwaukee half inch drill...

.. .. ..

Me a Bumpy road? Not more than any here. Got some stories though.
.. ... ...

What would this place be without Yvsa? I am still looking for the chokecherry branch to those impossible specs you gave.

Not a lot of pictures because Uncle is in SE Kansaa, and Yangdu isn't up to speed enough to post pix.

I used to know ( maybe ) but a browser update confuseled me or something.

Munk, welcome back.

Nasty, welcome to the cantina. You may be on your way to a record khuk buying spree, but I have to warn you...you should check out some of the records first. Some of the cantinamates have quite a stockpile. In fact, I wish I could remember the thread that has a picture of around 80-100 khuks. I think that was the roundabout number. Oh well, have fun and save your pennies.

Welcome Chris. You will really be thrilled with your first khuk. Mine was so much more than I expected. Much better than in the pictures.
