1SKS,Microtech,BM,CRKT, and stupid websites (rant)

The other I was searching the web for more info on a few knife locks, those being on the knives that I am currently interested in. So, what do I do? First of all, I look at Benchmade's website. the new Allan Elishewitz knife features a PATENTED, MODIFIED, LINER LOCK. But is there any kind of description as to how it works or what it is. NO, so what the H-LL is the darn point in even mentioning it?
Then what? I go to Microtech's page, and I cannot find any information on how the SOCOM (manual) Lock works. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?
When I went to 1SKS, it has more information on the SOCOM elite than microtech's page does, including the differences between the new and older SOCOM.
Why can't these highly technical companies give us complete information on their product? I thought this was the information age, with Al Gore's internet, isn't this the perfect opportunity to sell us their products in complete detail. Man, this crap makes me p;ssed. Okay, I'm done ranting now. But to give credit where credit is due, there are some very well set up internet websites, ie CRKT. For gosh's sake people, give us some information. If we don't want to read it, we won't but give us the info..... please.

Yes.

Benchmade gives you information on their liner lock. Click on "lock mechanisms" under the Benchmade menu on the left. Calm down a little. Geeze.

MT's webpage is a little bit lacking in information though.

I agree to some extent.

The BM site does provide tech data if you look for it.

In genral the mfg sites provide more data, and CRK is good.

But, I would like to see more tech data at custom makers sites. Now I realize that they're busy and they're not into continually updating they're sites. And blade lengths vary from knife to knife, etc. But they could state what are understood to be nominal specs.

Carson's site is good in this regard,
stating measurements, weights, and liner thickness.

Others could use some improvement.

Some dealer sites could use some improvement, but maybe they don't have the data from the maker.

Ron

Pergatory, sorry, I got your tone wrong in your original post. IMHO, you sounded rather pissed off in your post. BM does put information on their liner lock on their webpage though.

Hey, Chang, maybe I was a little cheezed off when I wrote the thing, but hey, it's only life, right? There has to be something ruffles your feathers too, I'm sure. Like maybe your favorite Knife supply shops runs out of genuine Sambar Cardboard, because of the export ban in Lower Elbonia. How are you ever supposed to crank out Changbenzas and Chang-o-matics, without the world's finest cardboard?

Anyway, have a good one.
