Greetings gents,

I've decided to give-in and will be ordering a SEBENZA 21 soon. But i'm fence sitting whether to go for the small or large. I have medium size hands,4.5 in. across and 7.75 in. from the base of my thumb to the tip of my middle digit. This will be an EDC knife, brought to the clinic/office. No hard use. My present EDC is an Endura 4. I love this knife, fits my hand quite nicely w/ a little extra real estate.
Feedbacks will be greatly appreciated.:)

TIA,

Joe

The small should do the trick.
It's a sturdy knife capable of all the EDC tasks.
As for weight i prefer it, as it is significant lighter than the large --> big plus.
hope this helps.

I've owned both. The small fit my hand better than I expected and was a good knife. I sold it to try the large version though and if you are carrying an Endura now without any issues in an office setting I would say go large 21. It will be closer to what you are carrying now. Keep in mind that the Endura is a pretty light knife; the large 21 will weigh more.

The delica is about the size of the small and the endura is close to the large. That should help. Glad you are taking the plunge. :)

I've had a few smalls, and a large 21. I still have one small and one large. If I had to choose one for daily carry, and only one, while at work, I'd get the small for now. If you decide you want a large down the road, the option remains open. Let me explain this a little bit...I have what I deem to be average sized hands, long but not "large" really. The large 21 fits my hand much more comfortably but, having said that, the small is very close to as comfortable, and it carries much more discreetly. In your office/clinic setting, you'd only be carrying the large 21 because you can, while the small will be adequate and more than enough knife for anything that needs cutting.

To me, it'd boil down to the efficiency when making my final choice. I really do believe the small Sebenza 21 to be my perfect knife. Good luck and enjoy your purchase!

Thank you for your replies. My initial thoughts were to go with the smaller sebbie 21 since i already have larger/heftier folders ie. Strider FMG-GG , ZT 0300,Emerson CQC(safe queens).I tried EDCing them in my inner waist band ,however i found them heavy and tend to freak out the sheeple when i pull it out for use. I get comments like" WHOAH, you look dangerous!".:(. Perhaps the smaller 21 will be more of a 'gentlemans knife' for light use in the clinic. But i'll still ruminate on it and push the button in a few days.
Best,
Joe :)

I like owning the Large 21s, but I find I carry the smalls more and more. In most situations they are all you need, and don't take up much pocket space. They only thing that ever crosses my mind is the slight difference in price as opposed to the huge difference in size. The large CRKs have 'presence' and you can get some immediate satisfaction of ownership after you drop all that coin. With the small size there can be times where I think 'I paid what for this!?!?!', but then I get over it. They are costly for what is a 'small' knife.

Yes, the large 21 will be large but it's not as aggressive as the two you have pictured. Those are both tactical folders. The 21 is more of a utility blade IMO. I won't carry the large at the office; I don't carry a knife with a pocket clip at the office though.

If you can, get a small WC Starbenza. It's friendly and looks great. It will give you more grip. The large may offend some in the work place. Get them used to the small and then spring a large on them when you get the large and you will get a large. Yeah, they're that addictive.

I personally prefer the large, but with taking your hand size and needs into account the small should be all you could ever ask for. Will not bother the sheeople as much either....!!!

OP, does the Endura bother people at your office? That's a long folder so I'm curious?

Blue,
I've had only 1 negative comment when I pulled out my Endura. Most of the time it's the wifey that freaks out when I use it in public.Usually I try not show it around the sheeple. Most often it's handled when I'm alone in the clinic doing paperwork, or use it like worry beads.LOL
Yes, it's-bout the same size with the large Sebbie. Oh well:confused:

I had an Endura once, and I thought I remember it being a little bit larger than a large 21. A Paramilitary 2 is nearly exact in overall length to the large 21.

Forgot my recommendation. Based on your everyday setting, I'd say small. If I had to choose between my large and small for the rest of my life, I'd most likely go with the small. It's capable of doing just about anything I need it to and is acceptable in all settings.

Go with the small for office. That's what I did because all of my folders that I carried outside of work were 3.5"+. Now I love the small sebenza. Probably my favorite knife at the moment.

Gotcha, I'm not suggesting the large for office use I was just curious as to why the Endura was acceptable but you were worried a large 21 wouldn't. The small is definately a people friendly knife and it does carry well.

On another note I really dislike the word sheeple. :)

The small carries easier. The large feels better. It's your call. :)

Yep. The large carries really really well for it's size and weight. I was pretty shocked. I hate a heavy/bulky knife in my pocket but love the large 21.

The small 21 is def. more office/people friendly but still very capable. I quit carrying the knife clipped to my pocket as well. It wasn't freaking anyone out I just didn't think it looked professional in the setting that I am in.

I acquired a large as my first.

That was 2 months ago.

Now I have 2 Large 21's and an Umnumzaan.

I prefer to large. Fits my hand better and meets my needs.

However I'm at teacher and can't carry a knife to work. But if I worked in an office setting the small is probably the better choice. When I worked in an office I carried a benchmade 705 with about the same specs as the small sebenza and it was a good knife for that environment.
