All this Bushcraft talk and a general interest in sharp has had me playing with Scandinavian styles again. Here are two in the Scandi tradition. One is a little Puukko and the other is a Leuku. The Puukko is 7 7/16 overall with a3 1/2in blade and blue G10 scales. The Leuku is11 3/4in overall with a 7 1/8in blade and natural canvas micarta scales. Both are made from 1/8in 1095. I gave each one a scandi style bevel and then sharpened them on a 20 degree angle on a Sharpmaker. The grip on the Puukko is fairly compact. Not small but I wanted something easy to use and carry. I ground the blade so a little riccasso area would give a little area between the grip and the edge just in case it should fall into the hand of someone with a bigger mitt or fat fingers :) It is easy to get right on the edge though and get max force on the edge close to the handle. The Leuku got a trial run on my shop 4X4 and it cuts like a razor!!!! Certainly not as fast as say a Busse Battle Mistress but it through more chips than I had expected from such a lightweight knife. The edge held up fine too :) I can hardly wait to get these two to the woods this weekedn for some better testing. I am real happy with the grinds on the Puukko and they turned out nice. The Leuko isn't quite perfect cosmetically but for a user, I am happy with it. I am not planning on offering scandi grinds on a regular basis anytime soon though. Let me know what ya think of the designs :D

I like those, great design and a couple of ideal size blades. I sure like those scandi's. Good work!!!
