Application post requirements are as follows. In your post in this thread, you should provide the following...
  1. A picture of at least one Ka-Bar knife you own. ANY Ka-Bar knife, old or new, any series. If it says Ka-Bar on the knife, it qualifies.
  2. At least 25 posts in the Ka-Bar subforum and 100 total posts at Bladeforums. Before you can be assigned a KA-BAR KREW number, a moderator will check the numbers in your User Profile Post Areas tab. You should be sure the 25/100 numbers are there.
  3. At least three QUALITY, original threads started in the Ka-Bar subforum. In your application post, please link to each of these threads. Quality and originality will be evaluated by the moderators. Put another way, we don't need thirty "What is your favorite Ka-Bar?" threads. Keep it fresh.

Other notes...
  1. To retain your number, you must remain a member in good standing at Bladeforums. Should you be banned from the forums, you'll forfeit your number.
  2. Numbers will be assigned in the order that successful application posts are received in this thread. You can ask for a number under 999, but all numbers are first-come, first-serve. Number requests will be best considered if an applicant takes participation up a notch--eg. hosting a giveaway, contributing to the subforum in an impressive manner, doing a (safe) stunt that jacks members up, etc. An initial range of numbers (001 to 015)will be reserved for OKB, Ka-Bar designers, Ka-Bar moderation staff, and other folks instrumental to the Ka-Bar subforum.

Its not too hard to join (given, its not zero work), but if you're interested, its usually worth it to stick around. The Becker subforum has a more established "Beckerhead" club, and that has had many different interesting contests, challenges, and giveaways. The Kabar Krew is shaping up to be the same way :).

Also, this thread has been open for a few months now, and its possible it still may take a while. You may as well just get started, and then see where the cards fall.
