So, here's my first go at a "Sharpfinger" style knife. It's 440c in 1/8" with desert ironwood scales. It's hollow ground, 7 3/4" OAL, 3 1/4" blade. What do y'all think of the hand rubbed flats and cork finished hollow? I think it looks fine but wasn't sure with the lines going opposite directions. Also, I had a tough time getting the front of the scales to look right with all the different lines on this knife. Anyway, it should make a good skinner. Let me know what y'all think.

I think the opposing sanding marks look nice actually. Though I wonder what the flats would look like if sanded high enough that you can't see the lines.

I really like the grain direction of the scales. Is that a rosewood?

Nice work!
You could make it pointier but this point works just fine.

That looks great. I really like the figure in the wood.

Thanks. I really lucked up on these scales. I bought 4 or 5 sets for, 12 bucks a piece, a while back and all of them were very nice. One probably should have been 25 or 30 because it was beautifully figured. That's how it goes when you order "sight unseen". They came from Arizona ironwood.

I ordered a few from them as well. It seems that you lucked out and got some really good pieces.
