Hi all

This is my first JS stamped knife. I wanted this first JS stamped knife to be special, so I dressed it up a bit with some silver and engraving.

The blade is forged from 1080 steel with a hand rubbed finish and differential heat treated. The blade is 9 3/4" long, 1/4" thick at the ricasso, and just under 1 1/2" wide. The knife has an overall length of 14 3/4".

The handle is stabilized curly maple that reveals a fantastic figure when moved around in the light.

The guard and butt are stainless steel and the ferrule is sterling silver.

I am the sole author of this piece including the engraving and sheath.

I am asking $SOLD for this piece. If you are interested in this piece or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your interest.

Brian

That is an amazing piece!! I love the silver engraving.

That is one beautiful knife!!! That engraving just fits that blade perfectly. Keep up the good work.

I didn't realize you engrave you name on the blade. It's a nice touch and comes out really nice.

That's a beautiful piece and I keep looking at it.

That is one good looking blade there. It was nice to talk to you over at the Troy hammer-in. Thanks for the tips and tricks on the hand sanding.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Mitch, when I first started making knives, rather than buying a stamp or etching equipment, I thought I would give engraving my name a try, and have done it every since. I just sign my name on the ricasso with a pencil, and cut it with a graver. I guess you could say I literaly "sign" my work :). The advantage to this method is I can adjust to fit the size of the knife ricasso and everybody gets an engraved knife :).

Burton, you are quite welcome for the tips. Your quote at the bottom of your post says it all. I had a lot of help from many people and feel it important to share knowledge to help others.
