1st Knife on KMG Started: Opinions

Well, I finally have my KMG up and running and this will be my first blade made on it and my second knife overall.

This one is made from 1/8" D2. I know it's just getting started but, I was wondering what everyone thought of the size and shape? It's about 10" overall with a 5.5" blade 1.5" wide. .5" of the blade will be covered with a small Nickel Silver Guard where the black lines are drawn. The guard will go the full width of the blade, those lines are just for refrence.

I have not decided on handle material or thickness yet. I'm waiting for some Green Micarta, I may try that out? Any suggestions? I'm always open to criticism or comments and won't be offended. I'm here to learn.

As a newbie too I can't comment on it from a technical stand point so suffice it to say I like it!

Newbie here also, yet to finish a blade on my new KMG, practicing on mild stock.
I say go for the green, everything looks great so far, just plunge in (pun intended) and go for it.
