:) HEEEEEELLLLLLLO BF!

I've been a lurker for the the longest time (3-4 years!). Over the years I've learned a lot and have come to appreciate the art of knifemaking from truly talented makers, both from the US and worldwide too.

I posted a similar thread over at the "other" forum and would like to hear your thoughts as well. You see, as with most knife nuts, there's deep down inside of us an "ideal" knife which is a combination of one or several design features we'd like to be assimilated in one package. You know what I'm talking about; that knife you've either held in your hand or beheld from afar and had a feeling of longing saying to yourself "Hmmm, if only it had this feature or that design. . ."

Let's start this knife-talk therapy of sorts---

Me? If only there was only a BM 710 HS with Emerson's "Wave" opening feature and had Rick Hinderer's modified frame lock (the Axis lock is indeed a great design, but I prefer to follow the KISS prinicple).

Hmm...

Al Mar S2K in S30v and titanium framelock (non-lock side: slightly more aggressive G10, lock side: similarly textured ti).

Sebenza with a spyder hole.
YES! Hand not considered it but that would be great.

Some of mine would be
a Benchmade 806 with S30V and a round hole, still keeping the axis lock
a Spyderco Native with a 4" blade

sounds great where do I sign up?

Bump! :D

Holy crap! My "birth/anniversary" thread! (A decade spent on BF is time well spent!)

hmmm, another poster gave me an idea to expound on

a 4" spyderco Native. S30v, flat grind, g10 scales.

If it had a hidden flamethrower on it that would be cool too

Believe it or not, some years back, there was a prototype of this, not flat grind though and not sure about the steel. It was supposed to have been called the Native "Chief" but Spyderco didn't push on with it.

I wish my RAT 1 came in Ti framelock and S30v steel.

I dig the RAT 1 because I can buy them for like $22, and they are great large beater knives. If they were made with those materials then the cost of them would go up drastically....

I know:D. I just love that design. Especially the pivot bushing and inner construction, it's so well made. We're talkin $200 for basically a more ergonomic flat ground sebbie.

Give me a Strider SNG, but with ZT's build quality, and with an INFI blade.

That would be my Frankenfolder....

Kershaw Lahar with San Mai (ZDP or SG2 core) steel and Framelock and Micarta scales (grooved)

Cold Steel Pocket Bushman with titanium handle (thicker) with San Mai steel of SG2 core. Perhaps G10 scales like the ZT200 on the outside.

Sebenza with the Ball Lock of Spyderco (not the polymer encased, just the large bearing type).

Cuda Maxx with BB lock.

Full-sized Kershaw Cyclone with a red-anodized (is this even possible?) titanium framelock handle, Manual-only, with a stonewashed M4 blade.

sebenza with a recurve tanto, serrations, and AO
just kiddin :D

a kershaw OD-1 with a Ti frame, S30V blade, lowrider clip and jimping. it would be great!

I like this game.

I'll take a Hinderer XM-24, with a roller thrust bearing pivot system, and a handground spanto YXR-7 blade.

I like where this thread is going. Knife companies, take notes! For me, a RAT-1 in M4 with CF scales and a tougher lockbar. Gayle Bradley killer.

I'd love a knife with an s30v rhino blade, g10 handles with full steel liners, with a really solid back lock but hold on, I've already got one like that in my pocket, it's the chinook. :)
