1st purchase/post in three years (also first knife over $300): Microtech Stitch Ram-lok two-tone, fluted G10: how'd i do?

Merry Stitch-in-hand eve!

Looking forward to pics of the real deal, and getting your thoughts. That two tone blade is interesting. Would like to know how their coated blades hold up to use.
Thank you thank you... As for the two tone blade, it's probably the first thing I reconsidered after ordering it. Yeah it looks cool and I snatched it as soon as I saw it but I don't think this one will be a user sadly 😅 . So, I'm interested in how the coating holds up to use too!
I feel you though. My rational brain is in control 98% of the time. But when my huevos take charge, and its time to do what I gotta do to scratch that itch. Come hell or high water, smart be damned straight to hell! lol
I may have tried scratching the itch a little more while waiting.

It finally came! Four inches of snow and six days later. I wanted to post a pic like I promised and edited my first post as well. It's marvelous, and honestly not as big as I thought it was going to look/feel in person. I really like the G10 on here. I had thought from handling so many knives in G10 already that it wouldn't do anything for me but the texture is really nice. Is it weird to say: the best G10 I've ever seen? My reservations about the two tone pretty much vanished when I first flicked it open. Though the first few were actually half-flicks. I wonder if the detent on mine is what it's supposed to be. I just tried while writing this and am able to flick it open with medium force with my wrist. Also getting a little lock stick every now and then. Anyway, didn't mean to leave a review. It's visually striking and impressive all around. I really wanna use it but don't at the same time! Thanks for waiting it out with me!

I could stare at that all day. Just lovely. :)

Use it. Thinking back my old ultra tech was 2 tone and it showed use after awhile but held up well enough. Honestly use it scratch it and keep it. The pivot will wear in or it'll be cleaned and adjusted the first time you pull it apart

I think thats the nicest looking version of the stitch. USE IT and let us know how you like it and how it performs

I literally haven't even cut one millimeter of paper with it yet. Maybe if I find a single loose thread on some clothing I'll try it out 🤣.

Maybe the 2nd nicest looking version 😅. The NICEST looking version for me (at least from pics) has to be that dang shadow one.

Trust me, you don't want the "nicest looking" one, you won't ever use it!

It’s a great knife. Very well made with a lot of attention to detail.

I'd like to get the amphibian in that configuration to use the snot out of. Will be my next knife purchase if I can keep from buying anything before I save all the way up. If you're a collector by all means save it but if you intend to use it a little... Use it a lot. 😁

Is that the apocalyptic finish? It's kind of hard to tell in the photo. That was my first choice before I had found one in stock.

I kind of like the Amphibian so I need to stop looking at it. The only reason the MSI isn't tempting to me is the blade shape.

Yes. Apocalyptic finish.

I wasn't sure about the MSI for awhile but ended up getting one for a decent price off the exchange. Glad I did I like it, but I always carry 2 blades so I still have one that's pointy with it.

I might be willing to try something like that but would prefer my larger knife to be the one with the pointy end 😅 . Now an MSI with a blade shape more like the wharncliffe on the CJRB Pyrite I could work with.
We don’t appreciate quitters here!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Welcome back! You made a heck of a choice! Jump right back into the fire!!!
Thanks. I really did jump in didn't I. I'm scared of what might come next.

Maybe my pointy one is the big one 🤣 I have been known to rock the talwar xl or Voyager xl. All seriousness though hopefully you decide to use it as I'd love to know how it performs in tasks other then ventilating... Things
