1st spyderedge

Well I picked up a Byrd Meadowlark Rescue with spyderedge. What a knife, I couldn't be more impressed. For $20.00 this is a great knife, hell it would be a great knife if it cost $40.00 or $50.00, well worth it. Thanks to all of you for input.

If you carry with a PE, get a Salt. I love my yellow SE Pacific Salt.

If you are only going to carry one knife, then I'd recommend a FFG SE blade.

EDIT: missed your update. Oh well.

Any 3 inch serrated Spydie will amaze you by it's cutting power. Above that blade length, fully serrated edges are cutting monsters! A definite must have!

(My own SE's? 2 Millies, 1 Para, 1 Caly3, 1 Tasman, 1 Dragonfly.)

That is the least aggressive spyderedge I've seen in both the spyderco and byrd line of knives. It will perform like a plain edge until you need it to cut like a serrated edge. Then it will do that.

My only spydie edge is a rescue 2. Let me say that it will cut through a pair of turnout pants like a hot knife through butter. The glass breaker is very efficient also. For a rescue knife the serreated edge is very useful, especially on stringy materials.

I have a recommendation for a full Spyderedged model. It's still available through G-Sakai from what I've been recently told. It is the stainless handled RESCUE model. And either the smaller C-45 or the larger C-14 model either one would sure be a great Spyderedged blade for hard work usage.

The stainless handled RESCUE model is one Abrams tank of a folder. I truly believe that it is the most solid built Spyderco blade in the entire line up IMO. My very first Spyderco knife with a full Spyderedge was my old GIN-1 Mariner model. As much as I adore the Mariner and would like to see it back in H-1 I still maintain that the stainless handled Rescue models are just simply splendid serrated folders.

I also have 2 full Spyderedged models to consider that are conventional designs. One would be the older 440V Military model in full SE and the very best full SE Spyder ( that is if you can find one) is the C-60 Massad Ayoob in full SE.

I recommend the native se black frn with black blade. Those serrations get used the most with my rotation! Plus it is bad ass looking knife and not exspensive. In your price range:)
