I posted a couple of weeks ago my first stock removal project and figured I show you guys the almost finished work. Its been heat treated, the handle has been contoured and I have got a working edge on her. I still have lots of finishing fine detail work to do as well as making some leather pants. My tootsie roll micarta turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Thanks for looking.

You did a damn fine job on that Sir. The handle is especially well shaped! I am impressed!

Thanks Fiddleback, that means a lot coming from a master craftsman such as yourself.

Spooky - the specs are:

5160 steel convex ground (by hand with files)
1/4 inch thick
6 inch blade kephart style spearpoint
5.5 inch handle
home made micarta handle

Hand grinding a 1/4" x 6" blade... Shoulders a bit sore?

It looks great! And, BEEFY! Excellent job on the handle.

P.S. Sorry Mtnfolk, stole your smilies.
