Just had my Brother's bachelor party weekend downtown and everything I've seen makes me want to go back.
I've lived in Southern California way too long so the greenery, craftmade-motifs, and especially the difference between downtown LA and PD appeal to me. Jealous of you Oregon.....ians? What do you call yourselves?

Anyways, I found some sexy looking blades at a shop. (forgot the name but I think it was next to the tram-stop close to 11th and stark)

I lived in Walnut Creek for 3 years. Visited a friend in San Diego once. I am literally dumbfounded when people say they want to move back to California from Oregon. I don't get it AT ALL. Everything's dead there. Here, I have a mossy patch on my porch that is a mini forest. There's life everywhere here...I mean...this place sucks. :D

Yup. Oregonians. You're welcome to stay.:)

Oregonians is correct. Portland is quite a unique city. Great beer, lots of history, pretty much something for anyone, especially if you're into weird stuff. The city's motto is "Keep Portland weird" and the TV show Portlandia sure celebrates the spirit. It's a good city if you prefer to live in an urban area but still enjoy the outdoors.

Those are some neat blades there.

It'll get worse when you find the KSF store :) Welcome to the land of guns, knives, naked bike rides, microbrew, trees, coffee, pride parades, and backpacks!

Don't forget bicyclists! Born and raised here and I love it! There's something for everyone here. Hiking, snow sports, beaches, great beer, city life, and of course home to Benchmade and Kai! Go Blazers!

I took a 6-week Beginning Blacksmithing class at Oak Bottom this winter. Nice guys who produce some really impressive knives. The owner even smoked some tri-tip and brought beers for the students after one session.

I love this town. Wouldn't live anywhere else.

Go Blazers!

We were at the game last Fri, that was the best game I've ever been to.
Plus the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food blows CA out of the water, although I think the Asian food might be a few steps behind. PD Chinatown seems really small.

Some people don't want to deal with all that cloud cover... but when you live in an area where winter is a month long and spring and fall don't really exist, any amount of water is a godsend. The thing that makes me mad though is when we had a bit of rain a few weeks ago everybody was saying how much of an inconvenience it is.
That because S.Californians DO NOT KNOW how to drive, let alone in wet weather, so traffic gets really bad. I'll take green and wet over 9 months of brown +95 F weather anyday.

Already came back with a new Fjallraven daypack! If I wasn't flying, especially with Californians, I would have come back with a pack of blades also!

Well our group of 15 certainly helped the motto :D. Such a great weekend.

I'm the most outdoorsy out of the whole group and would have chosen to be in the wilderness, but alas, it was my for my Brother not me.

We moved to Seattle a year and a half ago. Love the NW.

More opportunity up here, more chill in Oregon.

more chill in Oregon.
I'll say. I was taken aback when the employee at Will's (leather goods chain) offered me free coffee, tea, soda, or water.

I was like, "......wha? umm no but I really appreciate it!" Back home it's all money first and exceptional service only to the regulars or the rich. Such hospitality guys!

Yup, PNW is goods.. a bit grey for too long, but without the rain we wouldn't have the greens...

Tram... THE MAX. :)

Keep exploring.. lots of things hidden in P-Town.

I'm right behind you. I'll be up there in the Summer of '16 . . . maybe sooner if things go right. :)

Grey never stopped me from hiking Mt. Baldy for 10+ hours, but the 105 degree weather from May to Aug certainly does. We use snowblowers down here to keep the slopes open..... ugh :barf:

If it's too cold properly layer up, if it's too hot you're screwed after stripping naked. The CA beach cities are nice but it's still so urbanized that getting to the water is a pain with traffic and parking. Also our lakes and rivers a pitiful compared to.... everywhere!

Regarding:

"Go Blazers!"

and

"I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!"

Emphatic YES to both. I'm a huge Blazer fan. Not "I watch a lot of games." This is, "I can break down how Clyde averaged 27ppg despite only having two 'moves' in the half court, and explain how Aldridge is a more efficient scorer by USG% than most top players, despite low points-per-shot." I loooove basketball. Used to play every day.

Aaannnyyywwwaaaayyyy...

Portland is awesome.

Unless you're in favor of strict gun control, in which case San Francisco is a better destination. :)

The NW is all I've been thinking about since I got back, it's just so much more, me than SoCal ever offered.
