Z Wear sorta caught my eye all of a sudden. It's basically CPM 3V but with 1.15% carbon instead of 0.8%. Similar toughness to 3V but with a slightly higher carbide volume and is a little better in wear resistance/overall edge retention. Heat treatment was great, no distortion issues at all. 1975°F for 30 minutes, plate/forced air quench, extended "cryo" quench, triple tempers 350°F. Final hardness ~63HRC. 0.080" blade stock. Claro Walnut handle with aluminum lanyard tube. 0.005" prior to sharpening, 13° per side and took a wicked edge on the 3 micron DMT diamond plate. Thank you for looking!
