2.5" Folder?

I am looking for a 2.5" folder to use a a backup EDC blade for my work loadout. I carry a BM 2550 as my primary duty blade, but I always treat that blade as if it is contaminated, because it may be used to cut clothing and may be exposed to haz-mat. As such, I want a dedicated folder to use for basic food-prep, packaging, etc.

I recently got a Sog Flash I, but it had an atrocious level of blade play, and as I understand it, there is no way around that.

Anybody have anything that might fit the bill? Preferences below:

2.5"
<2 oz
One-handed open (prefer thumbstud, but not required)
$60

That is my ideal size, you need a dragonfly. Also try a delica, but really the D-fly is it. Maybe get the G10 model as it tends to feel more "solid".

I thought about the dragonfly. I really hate those finger choils (as in, using part of the blade) in such a small knife...

Delica 4 Emerson.

Unique design with Emerson wave giving an additional nifty way to open the knife (just pull it out of your pocket & it opens), extremely beautiful nice VG10 drop point with no choil extending to the blade, ultra thin and ultra light. It looks nice too in its dark blue color FRN. Has a full frame, small one. All for roughly $60.

Everyone should have at least 1 Delica/Endura Emerson.

The Kahr Arms Delica has a 2.5 inch blade.

Better yet, follow wensych's advice and send it off to Charlie Mike for the Kahr treatment:

I traded into this one (the original owner posted a pic and I thought it a great idea, then lucked into it when he got something else), but since I already had two when I did, they went to CM for nosejobs as well. They are the ready reserve if I lose this one.

No, no the choil makes the D-fly work so well. And with a lanyard it's even better.

You need a Spyderco Cat, plain and simple. It is just a bit more than $40 and is a great knife in your blade size range. The Dragonfly is very nice but the blade is a short 2.25" or so. The Cat has a 2.5" blade. It also has flow through pillar construction so if you get food in it you can wash it out easily. The broad blade is a good spreader and a fantastic cutter.

Another vote for the dragonfly, I like the g10 but if you want to save weight go for the frn.

Another vote for the Dragonfly here. And if you want another option, the Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite is a decent choice if you don't mind a slightly smaller blade (2"). It's a great utility knife, like a boxcutter on steroids.

Both are good choices, but the MTL has been discontinued. Get 'em while you can.
