2/56 & 4/40 machine screws

IG,
Not sure what you are asking. The hole size for a tap is .067 for 2-56 and .089 for a 4-40.

I want to use the tubing on a full tang knife as a insert in the pin holes using the screws to hold the slabs on. :D

IG,
Get threaded electrical circuit board standoffs. Lots of makers use them for the same purpose. I'll look around and see if I have any.

Kit, aren't the standoffs larger in diameter than the screw heads, though?
Why aluminum? Brass would be a better bet if hte screws are stainless. Steel would be ideal.
I.G. No lathe to center drill a pin to take a tap, I take it?

howie

Kit...You will have to offset the screws on a taped tang right?

Easy solution!!

Howie I do have a Unimat lathe, tubing sounded easier. :) No tapping. ;)

Howie what's difference if they are bigger?? The slabs will not be drill that size the holes will only be the size of the screw and counter sunk for the heads.

Then the tubes will be inset into the back side of the slabs, and not set in through holes?
If the head size of the screws is larger than the tubing it will work okay, but of the inserts are larger than the screw heads, it won't.
Unless I'm missing the point here...
