Damn,that's a great idea Bill.
If I had the bucks I'd jump on one in a heart beat.
Would you slice the block into separate scales?
I don't have access to a decent band saw & would mangle 'em pretty bad.
Just asking for any other DIYer that might want one.

Oh and how about a lanyard tube?

Nah....I gotta pass, BA....I'm just not crafty enough.

It's a superb idea, and 2 beautiful 'kits', but by the time I got done with one, it would look like a goat's bung.

:devilish:

Damn, it will be after Christmas before I'll be able to even pay attention. :( Maybe next time.

Thanks Bill, this is going to be fun,I hope I can do it justice with my micarta slabs.

IF you cant i can probably help buddy
LOL!Thanks Bill,I'm sure I can get them workable, but they sure won't be nearly as nice as yours & Chris's.
I'm going to take my time,so it'll be awhile before I get it done.
I have to do most of the grinding/shaping at work on our 80 grit 4x36 sander  & the rest by hand.
It's good to know I have a backup plan though.
Thanks again.

Mykel, shoot me a pm and Ill give you some pointers if your interested. I don't use anything but files and sandpaper after they are brought down to the tang.

#2 is the one I was lusting after, nice pick up mykel.
Thanks IM,I'll be using some nat/tan micarta that I've had for awhile for the scales.I've been saving it for a good project like this.I almost used some on my Tram rehandle, but really wanted to use it on a knife project like this.
I thought about getting a blank from somewhere & giving it a go & am happy I'm getting it from a known maker like Bill.
There won't be any question about the quality of the steel this way.(just the handle :o)

Hey Bill,got # 2 today.That was quick,thanks man.
I'm jonesin' to get cracking on it ,but have to get a few things first.
This is going to be cool.
I may or may not do WIP pics, but finished pics for sure.

OK,I have some orange liners & black mic.pins coming.(Luv me some orange.)
I'm thinking about putting the 3/16"black pins inside some 1/4"brass tubes.
I'll have to see how the pins fit in the tubes when they get here.
I think the brass will work well with the natural mic.over the orange. Not so sure about the black pin fillers though. We'll see......

Sounds like it will look great Mykel. Nice idea on the pins. Ive been wanting to try one with micarta liners and copper pinstripe with copper pins. I love how copper ages and with the right wood I think it will look great

Damn, copper pinstripe sounds goooood.I love the look of copper & brass.
I might steal that idea on a future project.:o
Hmmmmm the wheels are turning.
I'll have to see how this project turns out first though.
