This is the variac I used to etch the logos deeper and darker

I'm hopefully starting working with Micarta for my ZT 0550 and then with the beckers coming up soon.
Any other mods you're thinking of doing with those bad boys?

Yep, rigged this up and started hand sanding the grinds.

It was VERY tedious, so much so that I ditched the idea; no need to make a user so pretty I just convexed the 9 and slapped on some micarta.
The scales I made for the 14 are going to be epoxied and with stainless flared tube, so for better scale adhesion I made this little insert out of sandwiched scrap g10 liner material


Then I drilled it out for the epoxy.

Finished the scales this afternoon, still have some sanding and cleanup to do, but pretty happy with the first attempt at scales.

Thanks guys, hoping to get better at this, I'm loving the stainless tube and flare dies! Now I'm tempted to make a matching set for the 9.
