Man, I am so glad someone bought this before I saw it. Before I even realized what forum it's in I scrolled down to the pics, thought wow that looks amazing I'm going to buy it, then scrolled up to the price and realized why it looks so amazing (the reason being that I can't afford it). Somehow knowing that I couldn't have bought it make thats I can't afford it an easier pill to swallow.
 
416 stainless steel is most commonly used for bolsters, gaurds and fittings on knives IMO.
